A Dose of Vitamin D

Today was my first day of true relaxation. After an exceptional hotel night’s sleep courtesy of a little Tylenol PM, I made my way to the beaches that line the Promenade des Anglais and the Mediterranean Sea. Stopped off at a coffee shop/juice where I picked up one of the most delicious chicken wraps I’ve ever had – grilled chicken, lettuce, feta, avocado, cucumber. Yum… I made my way along the beaches trying to check out the best one. Despite the many private beaches (equipped with umbrellas, lounge chairs, and your own personal sunscreen applier person), I had many public ones to choose from. I was a little distracted by Sporting Plage, where parasailing (among other watersports) was being offered. I ended up lounging at Blue Plage for a couple of hours. The weather was beautiful, not a cloud in the sky, the water a deep turquoise color.

After my dose of Vitamin D, I walked over to Place Messéna, a large plaza which was tiled like a black and white tiled room.

Wandered over to Vieux Nice, the old town a little further east and captured this beautiful picture of Nice.

On deck for tomorrow: Cannes (home of the Cannes Film Festival) and/or Monaco (home of the Monte Carlo casino and Formula 1 Grand Prix).
