Goodbye Ireland! Hope to See You Again Soon…

Will be heading off to the south of France in less than 12 hours. Definitely going to miss my new friends and colleagues here in Ireland. Here is the text of the thank you email I sent them. This thank you goes out to anyone I have met or interacted with over these last three months. It has been one hell of an awesome experience!

For those of you who were expecting a speech, this will have to do…

I just wanted to thank everyone for such a great experience here in Ireland these last three months. You are a great group of people and I am so happy to have met each of you. Thank you for so many things – organizing my stay and providing me with cars, introducing me to Guinness, giving me travel advice, welcoming my endless questions about Ireland (and not making fun of me for asking the stupid ones), repeating yourself when I had a puzzled look that could only mean “huh? what did you just say? could you repeat that?”, providing me with acceptable responses should the TV license inspector return again, reassuring me that the date in my passport doesn’t matter one bit (still says I must leave by 9/17/2007), making sure I had something to do on the weekends, bringing me to my first hurling game, always having someone to eat lunch with, and most of all, constantly keeping me laughing!

Please, please, please don’t be a stranger – let me know next time you end up in EP. I would love to make you feel as welcome as you’ve made me feel during my stay.

Thanks!
